Sourced from two small plots in Tupungato Winelands in Gualtallary, the 2016 Calcáreo Granito de Tupungato Cabernet Franc is released later than the others, so they are now selling the stellar 2016 vintage, the coolest year in history, which resulted in moderate alcohol and very good freshness in the wines. This is floral and very aromatic, spicy and peppery, faintly varietal, complex, elegant and balanced. It has a mineral palate with very fine, chalky tannins, beautifully textured, and it's focused, clean, sharp and vertical, with some austerity. It finishes dry and long. It has superb finesse, a more elegant view of the Gualtallary wilderness.
