Rogue Vine is a two man winemaking team making incredibly expressive wines from Southern Chile. Based in Itata, near Concepcion and 300 miles south of Santiago, this was the original winemaking region in South America, with the first vineyards being planted in the early 16th century. This is a region of granite hillsides and old vineyards that were forgotten by the world, but not the locals. This is 100% Moscatel from a 70 year old vineyard. The making is simple, native yeast, old barrels and no additions. This wine spent seven weeks in contact with its skins. It is aromatic, with dried fruits, flowers, spices, and a fruity earthiness. Crisp on the palate and mineral driven finish, expressive just starts to describe this wine.
