Red Schooner Voyage is a rich and distinctive Malbec made from grapes grown high in the Andes Mountains of Argentina. The fruit is chilled and transported by sea to California, where the Wagner family finishes the wine using techniques associated with Caymus. The result is a dense, dark and supple red with ripe blackberry, plum and blueberry flavors, layered with violet, savory herbs, spice, chocolate and subtle earthy notes. The palate is smooth and full-bodied with fine-textured tannins and a long, rich finish. Red Schooner does not use a traditional vintage year on the label; instead, each release is identified by its Voyage number.
