Matrot Volnay Santenots 1er Cru is an elegant Premier Cru red Burgundy crafted by Domaine Matrot from the renowned Santenots vineyard in Volnay. Although the vineyard is geographically located in Meursault, it is entitled to the Volnay Premier Cru appellation for red wines. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, this wine is celebrated for its refined structure, silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and expressive aromas of red berries, black cherry, violet, forest floor, and subtle oak spice. It is approachable with decanting in its youth and has excellent aging potential, developing greater complexity over 10–20 years depending on the vintage.
