The new top wine by Marques de Riscal, from a selected plot that has been patiently recovered by them for ensuring top fruit quality and genuine Rioja character. Deep colour and restrained aromas, opening up in a complex array of pure black fruit, with very delicate spiciness. In palate the wine is silky and tight, finely grained while fresh and so elegant. A French would say 'cousu en dentelle', sewn in fine lace. The wine takes a long time to become living memory, becoming incredibly detailed in its expression. Perfect balance. This wine may represent a crucial milestone in Riscal's 160-year history. Wonderful.
