While the first No Name release from Compass Box was its peatiest whisky to date, No Name 2 is a somewhat more refined expression, mirrored by the slightly more colourful bottle decoration. Don't be fooled, it's still a fabulously peaty treat marrying Island single malts, the first a sherry-matured Caol Ila, the second from Talisker aged in recharred American oak hogsheads. Finally, single malt from Clynelish was added alongside a mystery Highland malt blend which was aged in French oak. At 48.9% ABV, it's packed full of peat without being overpowering, letting some of the more delicate nuances shine through.\n\n
