This vintage saw freezing winter temperatures and a hot summer. The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Corte draws its fruit from a pretty south and southwest-facing vineyard with well-draining, sandy soils. This wine is beautifully intact and fresh. It reveals a primary bouquet with wild cherry, plum and forest fruit. The finish is linear, tight and polished, especially in terms of the tannins. It ages for 12 months in both barrique and tonneaux made from Tronçais and Allier oak and sees another six months in bottle before its commercial release.\n
