Alves De Sousa Abandonado Douro 2021 is a distinguished Portuguese red produced from a field blend of approximately 25 indigenous grape varieties. The fruit comes from the remote Vinha do Abandonado, whose vines are more than 85 years old and rooted in extremely rocky schist soils. After fermentation and extended maceration, the wine matures for 24 months in French and Portuguese oak. Powerful yet refined, it combines concentrated dark fruit with mineral freshness, firm tannins and exceptional depth. Pair it with venison, roasted lamb, beef, smoked meats or mature cheeses.
