Schätzel Fuchs Riesling 2020 750 ML

Schätzel Fuchs Riesling 2020 is a distinctive, bone-dry natural Riesling produced from old vines grown in the Fuchsloch parcel of the renowned Hipping vineyard on Rheinhessen’s Roter Hang. The steep, east-facing vineyard is characterized by red slate soils, giving the wine pronounced minerality, tension and complexity.

The grapes are hand-harvested, foot-crushed and given extended skin contact before spontaneous fermentation. The wine is matured for approximately three years on its lees in large old oak barrels under a layer of flor yeast. It is bottled without fining or filtration and with little or no added sulfur. The resulting wine is highly structured and savory, displaying herbal, citrus and orchard-fruit characteristics rather than simple fruit sweetness.
