The Plymouth is the oldest working in England. It has been making Plymouth Gin according to the original recipe since 1793.A long-standing favourite tipple, Plymouth Gin was one of the few gins to have a geographic indication, obviously pertaining to its eponymous city. However, Plymouth Gin lost this indication in 2015, although it is still of course produced in the city. This is the original gin from the distillery, crafted from seven botanicals in a pot still with a rather short neck, and is blended with Dartmoor water. It is then bottled into the classic ‘shaving bottle’, with its distinctive green glass.
