TESTING NOTE
Very smooth and fairly rich, this medium-bodied wine offers generous, ripe, black cherries, cinnamon and clove notes on a moderately tannic texture. It shows enticing oak spices along with invigorating fresh fruits.\n\nProducer Information\n\nFlowers Vineyard & Winery is a Californian wine producer, within the Sonoma Coast AVA (American Viticultural Area). It specializes in producing high-quality wine from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape varieties. The flagship wine from the Flowers' wine portfolio is the Moon Select, which is named after the process of selecting the best parcels of Chardonnay fruit from the estate vineyard. It is fermented in French oak barrels with the use of wild yeasts from the winery and vineyards prior to barrel-aging for 14 months. Multiple other Chardonnay wines accompany two Pinot Noir wines in the portfolio. There is a strong maritime influence across the range with the estate vineyards as well as externally sourced fruit all within a close proximity to the Pacific coastline. The estate was founded in 1989 when Pennsylvania nursery owners Walt and Joan Flowers purchased 321 acres (130 hectares) of land on the northern Sonoma Coast. Flowers' have two estate vineyards that were gradually planted between 1991 and 2004, and now have a total of 69 acres (28 ha) of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and a tiny parcel of Pinot Meunier.
