Domaine Taupenot Merme Corton Le Rognet Grand Cru 2014 750 ML

A brooding, backward and relatively primary nose blends notes of game, red and dark currant, earth and a floral top note. There is excellent size, weight and muscle to the cool, restrained and imposingly intense flavors that are a fine combination of power, punch and richness on the mineral-driven and admirably long finish. This is a classic built-to-age Corton but with no rusticity.
