Gainey Vineyard Merlot Santa Ynez Valley 2021 is an estate-grown California red wine from Gainey's Home Ranch in the eastern Santa Ynez Valley. Crafted mostly from Merlot with a small amount of Cabernet Franc, this wine shows ripe fruit, smooth texture, and classic Bordeaux-varietal structure. It is fermented in open-top tanks and aged for 12 months in French oak, giving the wine polished tannins and subtle spice. The 2021 vintage offers rich aromas of dark plum, blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, milk chocolate, herbs, and tobacco. Juicy and elegant on the palate, it pairs beautifully with grilled steak, roasted lamb, burgers, pasta, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses.
