François Cazin Cheverny Rouge 2023 is a classic Loire Valley red wine produced at Domaine Le Petit Chambord by fifth-generation winemaker François Cazin. Crafted from estate-grown Pinot Noir, Gamay, and a small amount of Côt (Malbec), the wine comes from sustainably farmed vineyards rooted in clay-limestone and silica-rich soils in the Cheverny AOC. Each grape variety is vinified separately—Pinot Noir is destemmed, Gamay undergoes semi-carbonic whole-cluster fermentation, and Côt adds color and structure—before the wine is blended and aged in stainless steel without oak. The result is a fresh, elegant, and expressive red with vibrant fruit, lively acidity, and remarkable food-friendly character. It pairs beautifully with roast chicken, grilled pork, charcuterie, mushrooms, salmon, and soft cheeses.
Brilliant ruby red with aromas of black cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and wild berries, complemented by fresh herbs and subtle earthy minerality. The palate is vibrant and silky with flavors of plum, black raspberry, pomegranate, baking spice, and graphite, supported by crisp acidity, fine tannins, and a long, fresh finish.
