The Grillo "Diamanti" by Feudo Principi di Butera loves to talk about itself by telling the story of the territory from which it is born. The olfactory analysis reveals a range of aromas that bring to mind the famous and much-appreciated citrus fruits grown in Sicily, relaunching the concept of "terroir" with notes that wink at the Mediterranean scrub that characterizes the landscape of the island. The drink is linear and punctual, very dynamic. A label that, as soon as it is opened, risks finishing too quickly.
"Diamanti" Grillo originates from vineyards located at an altitude of between 250 and 350 meters above sea level. The terroir is characterized by a white matrix, of calcareous composition. The bunches, collected following the manual harvest, are immediately transferred to the rooms used for winemaking in the cellar, where they are destemmed. The grapes then begin the soft pressing phase, and the must obtained from this operation ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, between 16 and 18 degrees. The final refinement continues in steel for a few months , a period in which the wine remains in contact with the fine lees.
The Grillo "Diamanti" by Feudi Principi di Butera reveals itself to the eye with a typically straw-yellow color, crossed by nuances that settle on a very light greenish tone. The olfactory spectrum is orchestrated around subtle notes, where exotic fruit and citrus fruits intertwine with references to aromatic herbs, typical of the landscape surrounding the vineyards. In the mouth it flows with great ease, favoring a simple drink from which a mineral vein emerges ; on the finish you can also perceive a light menthol flavor. A perfect white for all seasons, which also has the merit of presenting itself with an advantageous quality-price ratio.
