Restrained if not reductive. It seems to be herbal, almost unripe, on the nose, but then the fruit is fresh redcurrant with whiffs of complexity. Crunchy tannins and crisp acidity with fragrant fruit on the palate which is quite biting on the finish, yet savoury too, A very tense Barbaresco, very classic with a sort of old style, definitely not ready to drink now but plenty of character. It deserves attention for ageing. An extremely classic estate with old vines. Fermentation in concrete and large Slavonian oak for ageing.
