Del Maguey (pronounced ma-gay), Single Village Mezcal was founded in 1995 by internationally renowned artist and mezcal visionary, Ron Cooper. Ron introduced the world to previously unavailable artisanal mezcal produced the original handcrafted way. Every product in our collection is made by individual family palenqueros (producers) in old-style villages. When you see our beautiful green bottles, you know it's Del Maguey.Del Maguey Madrecuixe Mezcal is a limited edition mezcal made in San Luis del Rio, from the brand's Vino de Mezcal series. Madrecuixe is a wild agave that takes 10 to 15 years to fully grow and is harvested 3,000 ft high in elevation. The piñas are earth-roasted for 3 to 8 days and its juices pressed using a traditional stone mill. It is naturally fermented in a wooden vat for 6 to 8 days and double distilled in copper stills.
