Angove was founded in 1886 by Dr. William Thomas Angove who emigrated with his family from Cornwall, England to Adelaide, South Australia. Dr. Angove established a medical practice and started experimenting making wine as a tonic for his patients. He soon found a growing customer base that turned his hobby into a business. Today, Angove Family Winemakers is a 5th Generation, family owned winery with a dedication to creating premium wines from across South Australia's best regions with a focus on McLaren Vale. Most of the wines are single vineyard sourced, with only a few hundred cases (or less) of each vintage imported into the U.S. Angove is currently the largest producer of organic wines in Australia.
