Born of a playful rivalry with winemaker wife Jules Taylor, when George Elworthy decided to dust off his wine-making hat to create a new range of wines, ‘The Better Half’ seemed like the perfect tongue-in-cheek moniker to attach to his new project.
Our top-selling wine since 2016, this sleek and racy Marlborough sauvie is an absolute joy. Punchy aromas leap from the glass, passion fruit, lime leaf and lemongrass blend with white rose petal to provide a fragrant symphony that sets the heart racing. Dry but luscious, there’s a fine symmetry between the heady richness and zesty freshness, with fleshy, exotic mango and guava on the palate countered by energetic citrus acidity and a dash of salinity on the finish.
