The Friulano “No Name” Le Vigne di Zamò is an intense and fruity version of the most representative wine of the Friulian tradition. Once known as Tocai, before it changed its name, it is produced with a white grape variety, Friulano, which has found in the Colli Orientali the place of choice to express itself at high quality levels. It has always represented the everyday wine, it can never be missing from the table, where it highlights an extraordinary ability to pair with many dishes . Precisely its extraordinary pleasantness to drink and its versatility have decreed its great success.
The white Friulano “No Name” comes from a winery with a recent history, which has quickly established itself as one of the best interpreters of the tradition of great Friulian wines. The Le Vigne di Zamò project began in the late 1970s with 5 hectares in the Rocca Bernarda area. Subsequent acquisitions have brought the vineyard area to around forty hectares, with prized plots in the historic areas of Buttrio and Rosazzo. It is a highly prestigious vineyard park , characterised by very suitable soils, wonderful sunny exposures and an ideal microclimate for viticulture. The bunches are softly pressed and the free-run must is fermented spontaneously in steel tanks at a controlled temperature using indigenous yeasts. Before bottling, the wine ages on the lees in steel tanks for at least six months, with weekly batonnage.
The wine “No Name” Le Vigne di Zamò is born from a selection of high quality grapes, coming from vineyards cultivated in some of the best parcels of the Colli Orientali area. The soils formed by the famous ponca, the result of the sedimentation of sandstone and limestone marls and the sunny and breezy climate, have always been the perfect habitat for Friulano. In the glass it has a straw yellow color with bright greenish reflections. Intense and expressive, it offers fragrant aromas of citrus, white-fleshed fruit and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it is soft and harmonious , with a rich fruit and a balanced finish, which closes on savory and mineral notes. Absolutely to try with a platter of San Daniele prosciutto.
