The 2020 Kinheimer Rosenberg Riesling Spätlese is intense and stony on the tight and concentrated yet reductive nose that needs some aeration. This is a very elegant, round, fruity Riesling with saline and crystalline, finely grippy and savoury acidity, sweet, lush and saline on the palate. A bit too sweet for my taste, in any case. 9% stated alcohol. Natural cork. \n \n Johannes and Sebastian Selbach from Selbach-Oster took over the business from Alfred and Rolf Merkelbach in 2020 and started with two excellent vintages. \n \n The 2021 Kabinett and Spätlese Rieslings from both Ürzig (Würzgarten) and Kinheim (Rosenberg) are fabulous, especially in the cool and later-ripening vintage of 2021, whereas in 2020, the two Spätlese selections from the Würzgarten are shining.
